Our President invites you to join him for The Alpine Ski Club annual dinner at the Savile Club, 69 Brook Street, London W1K 4ER on 20 October 2023.

The Savile Club was established in 1868 by a group of the most distinguished writers and artists of the time. Its home is a fine 18th Century house in the heart of Mayfair, whose air of elegant exclusivity reflects the uniquely creative ambiance which is preserved in the Savile Club of today.
Dinner: Dinner will be a 3-course meal with coffee, chocolates and ½ bottle of wine per person.
Dress code: Black tie
Guest speaker: Steve Goodwin – “On Being An Outsider”
Stephen (Steve) Goodwin has been an ASC member for some 30 years. A former political journalist on The Times and then The Independent, he left the ‘Westminster village’ at the turn of the millennium for a real village in Cumbria. He subsquently became editor of the Alpine Journal for 10 years and served as a vice-president of the Alpine Club. Yet for all the rubbing shoulders with the great and good of mountaineering, and despite his own life-long passion for the mountains, he felt an unworthy intruder. Steve will reflect ‘on being an outsider’.
