Book Review
Mountain Views  A lifetime’s enjoyment:  Rupert Hoare.

Image"Mountain Views” is a delightful book to appeal to everyone with an interest in mountains. It is not the tale of an epic first ascent or a major expedition; it is the simple story of the climbs, over many years, of a keen proficient amateur mountaineer, Rupert Hoare. It is beautifully illustrated by his own photographs. As he says “it is my way of trying to capture and share some of the beauty I find in mountains”.

Ski-Mountaineering Meets in 2012

Club Meets for the 2012 season

The Alpine Ski Club is running three ski-mountaineeriing trips for members to Scotland, the Pyrenees and to the Caucasus this coming season.  These are great opportunities for newer members to meet fellow ASC members and share the comradeship of the club and the splendour of the mountains in winter .  See the events pages for further details and contact the convenors if you are interested in joining us.

Wherever you go this winter, don't forget to send a short story and a picture of your travels to the newsletter editor.
