Ortovox M1/M2 Voluntary Recall

Due to a subtle variation in battery sizes, some batteries in the M1 and M2 models may shift in the transceiver if the device receives a blow, such as in an avalanche, interrupting the power supply. Ortovox are offering free replacement battery case lids that are more of a snug fit. This is a voluntary recall, but Ortovox do recommend that all owners replace the battery compartment lid of their beacons and choose batteries with a prominent negative terminal.

  Mammut-Barryvox

Mammut-Barryvox have issued a recall notice for transceivers manufactured by them between August and October 2004 bearing the serial numbers M0080000 to M0088419 and M0089616 to M0089800. Most of these transceivers have been returned and exchanged for new but if you have one, return it to your supplier or phone
+41 (0)62 769 8199 to arrange for an exchange.

Ortovox F1 analogue transceiver (Pre 1991)

The transmit frequency  of these transceivers drifts significantly depending on temperature, age and general wear and tear. As a result, if you are using one of these and are caught in avalanche, your companions may not be able to find you. Anyone who has the old Ortovox F1 analogue transceiver should consider returning it to ortovox, replacing it immediatly or hiring a Tracker DTS.
