The Annual Dinner and AGM is the main event of the year when all members get the chance to meet up, renew acquaintances, discuss future plans and introduce others with an interest in our activities, particularly younger ski mountaineers. In 2008 we will be returning to the Rising Sun where we had an excellent week-end of training and socialising in 2006.

Photography workshop - Introduction to Digital Photography. 

Saturday 15th November  10.00 until 17.00.

Cost: £30 for ASC members, priority booking.   £40 for ASC guest, if space available.

Peak District landscape photographer Karen Frenkel will lead a one day course to help you get the most from using your digital camera in the mountains. The day will start by introducing a few basic concepts and checking that everyone has their cameras set up correctly with the automatic settings turned off. With good weather, most of the day will be spent walking in the Peak District, stopping to take photographs at interesting places along the way with Karen giving guidance to individuals where wanted.  Back at base there will be a chance to discuss the day's photography. Karen will give a brief presentation of her work where she will discuss lighting and composition with a chance for questions at the end.

This course is suitable for owners of digital SLRs or digital compact cameras. However SLRs offer more scope for creative photography. You should also bring the instruction manual for your camera and a tripod if you have one. For the walk you will need a packed lunch, outdoor clothing and suitable footwear for muddy paths.
